I just saw on DCist that the 2012 Giro d'Italia (Tour of Italy) is confirmed to kick off in DC. How awesome is that? Ahhh! The Giro is one of three Grand Tours in the professional long distance bicycle racing circuit, and usually takes place in May/June (thank you, Wikipedia).
